Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a CNC machine?

Yes — or access to one. Many local makerspaces and fabrication shops can cut the files for you cheaply. The DXF files are compatible with all major CNC routers and laser cutters.

Is this a physical product?

No. This is a digital download — you receive the plan files and instructions. You source your own materials and build it yourself. No physical item is shipped.

What software do I need to open the files?

DXF files open in any CAD software (Fusion 360, Inkscape, LightBurn, VCarve, etc.). STL files open in any slicer (Cura, PrusaSlicer). PDFs open in any browser or reader.

How do I receive the files after purchase?

You receive an instant download link immediately after payment. The link is also emailed to you. Files are compressed in a ZIP archive.

Can I sell the finished droid?

The plans are for personal use only. You may build and display the finished droid, but may not sell or distribute the plan files themselves.

Is this based on official Star Wars plans?
